Rosemary V. C. Hebert, 100, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away Friday, December 4, 2015, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, Iowa.
Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. Private family services will be held. Memorials may be made to Catfish Jazz Society, P. O. Box 526, East Moline, IL 61244.
Rosemary was born on May 11, 1915, in Montpelier, Ohio, to L. C. and Bertha (Hofstetter) Jameson. As a child, she moved with her family to Rock Island where she graduated from the Villa de Chantal. She married Roy R. Canham in 1943, moved to Dubuque, Iowa, and they raised two children, Diane and Randy, After Roy's death in 1977, she married Bud Hebert; they spent their time living in Davenport and Sedalia, Colorado.
Rosemary was active in her church, civic organizations, and volunteering. Besides her family, her passion was music. She was the singer for her own 7-piece band which played locally and in surrounding areas, and also sang in Colorado. When performing, she was more often than not introduced as "The Grande Dame" of song.
Rosemary is survived by her daughter, Diane Nauman of Davenport; her daughter-in-law, Kathy Canham of Janesville, Iowa; and her step-grand-son and his wife, Scott and Jill Kane, and their children, Austin, Renae, and Paige, all of Waverly, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, and her son, Randy Canham.
He daughter, Diane, smiles in comfort, knowing that Rosemary is at home after a long and beautiful life on Earth.
