Rose M. Ramirez

December 5, 1950 — April 8, 2025

Moline, Illinois

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of our beloved mother, Rose Ramirez, 74, of Moline, Illinois, who peacefully departed this life on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at home, surrounded by her family.

Private services will be held at a later date. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities.

Born Maria Rosario Barajas on December 5, 1950, in Clinton, Iowa, Rose was the daughter of Arturo and Amparo Barajas. She lived a life full of compassion, service, and quiet strength.

Rose was a lifelong giver. She dedicated many years to working at the Community Action Agency, Project Now, where she forged a lasting relationship with Rick Early—one of the many people whose lives were deeply touched. She retired a proud civilian employee at the Rock Island Arsenal, where she organized care packages for deployed troops and tirelessly fundraised for local food pantries.

An avid reader of mystery novels and a talented crafter, Rose poured her love into every stitch of crochet, seam of fabric, and homemade creation. Her greatest joy, however, came from being a mother. Her love for her daughters was boundless, and she cherished every moment spent with her family. To know Rose was to know warmth and generosity—a true blessing.

Rose is survived by her cherished daughters, Angie (Eric) Hansen and Yolanda (Eric) Gordon; siblings, Arturo Barajas, Carmen (David) Porter, Carlos (Marlys) Barajas, Ricardo Barajas, Robert (Dixie) Shaff, and Joe Shaff; special friend, Richard Early; and many nieces & nephews. She was preceded by her parents; brother, Fernando Barajas; nephew, David Shaff; and great-nephew, Noah Brewer.

As Rose enters God’s heavenly kingdom, the family asks for your prayers and loving thoughts. She is now reunited with those who have gone before her and will be forever missed by those who remain.

In her memory, please consider making a donation to Rescued in Silvis, Illinois, or planting something purple in your garden—a color she loved and a symbol of her enduring spirit.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Heartland Hospice team for their guidance and compassion through these difficult times. Your care and support meant the world.
