Rosalie A. Dykeman, 80, of Cambridge, Illinois, died Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Bettendorf, Bettendorf, Iowa.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 24, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Cambridge. Burial is in Western Township Cemetery, Orion. Visitation is 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Trimble Funeral Home, Coal Valley. Memorials may be made to New Life for Women, Geneseo.
Rosalie Ann Redecker was born February 15, 1941, to Raymond and Marie Magdalene (Deisenroth) Redecker. She graduated from Alleman High School in 1959. She married the love of her life, Oliver Lee Dykeman on July 8, 1976, in Cambridge. She owned and operated a day care, Kiddie Kare Korner, for many years. In her spare time, she raised five children that she was immensely proud of.
Rosie was a terrific cook and baker who loved making food for her family and friends. She will be remembered for her deviled eggs. She also loved her cats over the years, most recently her three cats, Elvis, Lisa Marie, and Priscilla brought her a lot of joy. Above all else, family was the most important thing to Rosie, especially her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Oliver; children, William Witter of Reynolds, Deborah Witter of Davenport, Cynthia (Dan) Akers of Orion, James (Lori) Witter of Geneseo, and John (Carla) Witter of Cambridge; grandchildren, Nichole Rae Witter-Graham, Kimberly Blanchard, Katlyn Akers, Hilary Leal, Natalie Witter, and Tony Wagner; seven great-grandchildren; siblings, her twin brother, Raymond Redecker of Andover, Patricia Redecker of Milan, Gary (Suzanne) Redecker of Watertown, Wisconsin, and Jacqueline (John) Esser of Geneseo; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Marie Maciolek, and brother, Henry Redecker.
