Ronald W. Nichols, 62, of Pueblo West, Colorado, formerly of Milan and Rock Island, died Friday, March 25, 2005, in Parkview Medical Center, Pueblo, Colorado.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Burial is in National Cemetery on the Rock Island Arsenal. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
Ronald William Nichols was born November 18, 1942, in Indiana, Pennsylvania, the son of Kenneth Howard and Francis May (Brown) Nichols. He served in the U. S. Air Force during the Viet Nam War. He married Sandra Hall Edens on November 6, 1968, and they later divorced. He was employed at the Eagle Warehouse in Milan for 33 years, retiring as General Foreman in 2000. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, golf, horseshoes, and dancing.
Ron is survived by his Partner in Life, Jane Duncan, of Pueblo West; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mahala and Brad Sieg of Peoria, Illinois, and Anita and Jamie Gordon of Colona, Illinois; three grandchildren, Michaela, Madison, and Devin Gordon; his father, Kenneth Nichols of Forest Grove, Oregon; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Darlene and Leland Bender of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Dorene Nichols of Phoenix, Arizona; and three brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Vicki Nichols of Forest Grove, Jeffry and Jana Nichols of Milan, and Terry and Laurie Nichols of Carthage, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his mother, Francis; his step-mother, Viola Bender Nichols; a sister, Jane A. Carey; and a brother, Kenneth (Dick) Nichols.
