Ronald J. Reiser, 74, of Bettendorf, Iowa, died Monday, March 29, 2021, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf. Ron lived with Parkinson's disease for the last five years. He succumbed to a brief battle with a Glioblastoma tumor which began in earnest Ash Wednesday, February 17, 2021.
Celebration of Life in honor of Ron Reiser will be Noon on Saturday June 19, 2021 at Asbury United Methodist Church, 1809 Mississippi Blvd. in Bettendorf, IA. The family invites you to stay for a light meal following the service. Cremation has taken place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. Memorials may be made to Asbury United Methodist Church or Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.
Ronald John Reiser was born May 1, 1946, in Fall River, Massachusetts, the son of Elmer and Dorothy (Ashley) Reiser. He graduated from Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey, and went on to earn his MBA from St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa. He married Patricia Roll on June 29, 1968, in Wantagh, New York.
He worked at Arco Polymers in Pennsylvania from 1968 until 1980. He then moved to Clinton Iowa to work as a chemical engineer for Chemplex (now LyondellBasell Industries), retiring in 2009. After retirement, he worked for Hy-Vee on Devil’s Glen Road in Bettendorf.
He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE). He enjoyed singing, gardening, watching sports, and playing hockey in his younger years. Above all else, family was the most important thing to Ron, especially being “Boppie” to his grandchildren.
Ron is survived by his beloved wife of over 52 years, Patricia; three sons, Steven (Berri) Reiser of St. Paul, Minnesota, David Reiser of Bettendorf, and Jeffrey (Monica) Reiser of Darien, Illinois; and grandchildren, Lillian, Aaron and William Reiser. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Pamela Reiser Bealieu.
