Roger M. Comp, 71, of Moline, Illinois, died Thursday, October 19, 2017, in his home.
Memorial services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, with Rev. Jane Courtright officiating. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory and burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Honor Flight of the Quad Cities. Friends are invited to join the family at a funeral luncheon at CityView Celebrations at Trimble Pointe following the burial.
Roger Michael Comp was born August 16, 1946, in LaSalle, Illinois, and was raised by his mother and step-father, Duane and Henrietta Page. He married Phyllis Buser on September 18, 1966, in Moline. He was employed by John Deere Harvester Works for 30 years, retiring as a purchaser in 2009. He was a member of the former First Christian Church, Moline, loved spending time with his family and grandchildren, and enjoyed playing poker and cribbage, fishing and camping.
Roger is survived by his wife, Phyllis; two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Becky Comp and Chris and Cindy Comp, all of Moline; five grandchildren, Katie and Abby Comp and Elizabeth, Emily, and Bryan Comp; a great-granddaughter, Ashlynn VenHorst; and siblings and spouses, Larry and Karen Comp of Everett, Washington, Margaret and Ed Housby and Duane Page Jr., all of Rock Island. He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Rebecca Comp, Douglas Page, and Mary Etta Sullivan.
