Roger D. Davis, 76, of Illinois City, Illinois, passed away quietly and quickly on Thursday, January 1, 2015, at UnityPoint Health - Trinity Rock Island, Rock Island, Illinois, of Mesothelioma and pneumonia.
Visitation is Noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, followed by graveside services at Rock Island National Cemetery, where Moline American Legion Post #246 will present military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Honor Flight of the Quad Cities and paralyzed veterans.
Roger Duane Davis was born November 25, 1938, in Moline, to Harold Oswald and Evelyn (Gustafson) Davis. He was a U. S. Navy Seal veteran. He married Beth Anne Meskimen on June 28, 1975, oh her family farm near Shueyville, Iowa. He was a pipe insulator with Local #81 for 38 years, retiring in 1999. He was a member of Doric Lodge #319, AF & AM, and loved the outdoors and doing yard work.
Roger leaves behind his wife of 39 years, Beth; sons, Darin and Brett Davis of Rock Island; siblings and their spouses, Irene and Oscar Rockhold of Milan, and Bruce and Marilyn Davis of Phoenix, Arizona; his father-in-law, Regis Meskimen, and sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Roger was a loving, caring, and giving husband, father, and brother, who send thanks to all his nurses, doctors, family and friends.
