Roger A. Waligorski

Roger Waligorski, 68, of Rock Island, Illinois, died Wednesday, October 21, 2015, at the University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City, Iowa.

Following cremation at Trimble Crematory, graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Rock Island National Cemetery. Those wishing to attend should meet at Trimble Funeral Home & Crematory, 701 12th Street, Moline, by 9:45 a.m. Memorials may be made to the family.

Roger was born November 22, 1946, in Centralia, Illinois, the son of Walter and Mabel (Kaufmann) Waligorski. He married Denise Kalagian on September 10, 1971, in East St. Louis, Illinois. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.

He was a maintenance man by trade, and used his skills for various jobs over the years, including ConAgra and the Barcelona Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. He enjoyed playing poker, golfing, and grilling. He was also active in pool and bowling leagues.

Roger is survived by Denise Kalagian of Rock Island, two sons, Shawn and Crystal Waligorski, and Terry Waligorski, all of Rock Island; a granddaughter, Shawna Waligorski; a great-granddaughter, Ellianna; and brothers, Dennis, Walter Jr., Jerry and Steven Waligorski. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Bob and Kenneth Waligorski.
