Roberta ?Bobbie? Hankey, 87, of Moline, died Saturday, February 16, 2008, in Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island.
Public Memorial Services will take place at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center, Milan. Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, is assisting the family.
The former Roberta Mae Richardson was born March 28, 1920, in St. Louis, Missouri. She married Eugene Hankey on May 1, 1942, in St. Louis. He died April 10, 1990.
Bobbie was a member of Union Congregation Church, Moline, and at one time served as church secretary. She enjoyed art of all kinds including ceramics, pottery, and porcelains. She had a love for learning new things, becoming an accomplished watercolorist. She had a special ability to listen and help others, which caused her to become a second mother to many of her childrens? friends. She had a deep love for all living things.
Bobbie is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and G. Don Land of Shelley, Idaho, and a son, John Hankey of Moline. She was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Hansen.
