Robert L. Threlkeld

Robert Lavere Threlkeld, 90, of Hemphill, Texas passed away May 24, 2017 in Woodland Heights Medical Center in Lufkin, Texas.

Visitation is 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, June 11, 2017, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Private burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery.

A native of Missouri, Mr. Threlkeld had moved to Hemphill, Texas in 1993 from Wisconsin. He was a U. S. Army and Air Corp veteran who served in Korea during WWII. He later worked as a welder for Chrysler Manufacturing. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 1865 in Kenosha, WI, American Legion #197 in Hemphill, Texas, a 54 year veteran of the The Grand Lodge of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers #66, and a member of the United Auto Workers Union Local 72.

Mr. Threlkeld is survived by his sons: Rocky Shrum of Hannabal, MO, Donald Threlkeld of Friendship, WI, David Threlkeld of Korea, Danny Threlkelf of Salem, WI, Dean Threlkeld of Wheatland, WI, Dennis Threlkeld of Houston, TX, Michael Threlkeld of Junction City, KS, Randy Threlkeld of Blue Island, IL, and William Eugene Shrum of MO; daughters, Debra Bowker of Racine, WI, Dawn Forwith of Ohio, Michelle Fell of Kenosha, WI, and Bobbie Jo Walkey of Pell Lake, WI; sister, Betty Hallmark; 52 grandchildren, 84 great grandchildren and 16 great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Threlkeld; brothers, Donald Threlkeld and Elbert Threlkeld; sister, Bonnie Cook; and grandsons, Jacob Robert Threlkeld and Aaron Christopher Johnson.

Mr. Threlkeld with be buried in Rock Island National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal in Rock Island, IL under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home in Moline, IL.
