Robert L. Bohannon, Sr., 73, of Lynn Center, Illinois, died Sunday, September 21, 2014, in Richard L. Owens Hospice Home, Peoria, Illinois.
There will be a viewing and hospitality gathering of family and friends at CityView at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, with a time of sharing at 7:30 p.m. Graveside services are 11 a.m. Friday at Illinois City Cemetery. Those wishing to attend should meet at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe by 10:30 a.m. Friday. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Robert Le Roy Bohannon was born August 14, 1941, in Rock Island, Illinois, to Ozre and Florence Ferguson Bohannon. He married Rosemary Hokinson in 1965, and they were divorced in 1985. He married Jean Wylie Cooper on April 19, 1996, in Rock Island. He was a mechanic and maintenance man for Aramark and its predecessor, F. W. Means Company, for over 40 years, retiring in 2001. Bob was a great family man, who was always ready to help others and was loved by many. He enjoyed pool, movies, and traveling in his travel trailer.
Bob is survived by his wife, Jean Bohannon; four children, Bob Bohannon, Jr. and his partner William Walloch of Rock Island, Patricia Bohannon of Lithia Springs, Georgia, Michelle Cooper of Chicago, and Suzanne Kerr and her husband Jim of Bettendorf, Iowa; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Ozra Bohannon of Silvis, Illinois, Wayne and Norma Bohannon of Hampton, Illinois, Jerry Bohannon of East Moline, and Dale and Sonya Bohannon of Rock Island.
