Robert E. “Bobby” Harris, 79, of Davenport, Iowa, died Sunday, April 30, 2023, at home.

Services are 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 12, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12^th Street, Moline, with The Rev. Cornelius Miller officiating. Visitation is one hour prior to services. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory after services with burial on Saturday, May 13, at Oakdale Memorial Gardens, Davenport.

Robert Eugene Harris was born December 15, 1943, in Mexico, Missouri, the son of Robert W. and Mary Elizabeth (Belcher) Harris. He graduated from Rock Island High School. He was in a long-term relationship with JoAnne Brooks, with whom he had three children, Kevin, Torrie and Corrie. He then married Tonnette Nunnelly who passed away 27 July 2016.

He went on to have a 39 ½ career at Alcoa, serving at one point as Union Steward.

Bobby enjoyed fishing, golfing, hunting, guitar and blues music, and playing cards. He was an avid volunteer and giver, helping deliver food baskets to those in need and donating to different charities. Above all else, Bobby loved to travel across the country and spend time with his family. He was hardworking, caring, loving and he had the ability to make you laugh at any given moment. There are many ways to serve and to his credit he did it his way and on his terms. Bobby will remain forever thankful for the time he shared with us on this earth.

Bobby is survived by three children, Kevin Harris of Rock Island, Torrie (Jeffery) Goodell of Davenport, and Corrie Harris of Davenport; Step-children, Yvonne Brooks of Davenport, Curtis Brooks of Moline, Cynthia Gay of Lonoke, Arkansas and Maurice Berry of Davenport; Siblings, Linda Rummans of Springfield, Illinois, Thomas William Harris of Rock Island, Carol (Ron) Jackson of Springfield, David Harris of Ashland, Missouri, Lucy Summerton of Wisconsin, Charlie Harris of Olive Branch, Mississippi, Al Harris of California, Danny Harris of California, Moria Britt of Ashland, Jamie Harris of California, and Anthony Harris of Bettendorf; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Elizabeth Harris; his father and step-mother, Robert W. and Sarah Josephine Harris; Wife, Tonnette Harris-Nunnelly; Step-sons, Toney and Johnny Brooks; Grandson, Kevin Harris, Jr.; Step-brothers, Robert W. Harris, Jr. and Herbie Woods; Step-sister, Shirley.
