Robert F. Lucas, 84, of Coal Valley, Illinois, died Thursday, July 16, 2015, in St. Anthony's Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Rock Island.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, Coal Valley, with Fr. Jim DeBisschop officiating. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery, where Moline American Legion Post #246 will present military honors. Visitation is one hour before services at the church. Memorials may be made to the Church or American Legion. Trimble Funeral Home, Coal Valley, is serving the family.
Robert Francis Lucas was born February 4, 1931, in Moline, Illinois, to Willis Walker and Mary Catherine (Metzger) Lucas. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He was a purchasing clerk at International Harvester Farmall Works, Rock Island, for 36 years, retiring in 1986. He was a member of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church and American Legion Post #246. He loved horses and being in the country.
Bob is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, William J. and Rita Lucas of Rock Island; three nephews and their wives, Michael and Tamara Lucas of Moline, Edward and Ann Lucas of Tyler, Texas, and Joseph Lucas of Rock Island; six great-nephews, one great-niece, one great-great-nephew and one great-great-niece. He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, David Lucas.
