Robert Ellison Poston

Robert E. Poston, 61, of Moline, died Monday, October 4, 2004, in Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island. Services will be 10:30 AM, Friday at Hope United Church of Christ, Moline with the Reverend A. Parker Lewis III officiating. Visitation is Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorial donations may be given to United Church of Christ. Robert Ellison Poston was born February 15, 1943 in Moline, Illinois the son of Richard H. and Shirley I. (Ellison) Poston. Robert was a graduate of Moline High School, Class of 1961, and attended Black Hawk College, and served in the United States Army during Viet Nam. Robert was employed at Vulcraft Sales Corporation in Kenyon, MN and at Harrington Signal in Moline, IL as a materials purchasing specialist. For the past several years Robert has been taking care of his mother, and has become very active at Hope United Church of Christ were he was currently serving as Vice-President of the Church Council, and attended the Men's Breakfast Group. Robert was a past president of the National Association of Purchasing Agents, and was a member of the Order of DeMolay, Moline. In his spare time Robert enjoyed collecting Hummel's. Surviving family members include his mother, Shirley Poston of Moline; a brother and sister-in-law, William and Marcia Poston of Cedar Falls, IA; two nieces, Holly Fitzpatrick of East Moline, and Terri and Mark Fredricks of Rock Island; and three nephews, Jeff and Jandy Poston of Rock Island, Dave Gross of Des Moines, IA, and Doug Gross of Woodstock, IL. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard A. Poston.
