Robert D. Love, Sr., 82, of East Moline, Illinois, died Saturday, February 8, 2020, in Centennial Rehab (formerly Rosewood Care Center), Moline, Illinois
Graveside services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Rock Island National Cemetery. Those wishing to attend should meet at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, at 10:45 a.m. Thursday. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Program.
Robert David Love was born August 25, 1937, in Peoria, Illinois, to Clifford and Mildred (Taylor) Love. He served in the U. S. Air Force from 1954 to 1961, and married Joellen Rich on August 6, 1977, in Las Vegs, Nevada. She died June 5, 2017. He was a construction laborer for Local 309, retiring in 1999, and was previously a truck driver for 30 years. He was a member of VFW Post #1303, Rock Island, and American Legion Post #246, Moline.
Bob is survived by three children and spouses, Deborah and Phillip Armstrong of East Moline, Denise and Kerry Lieving of New Windsor, Illinois, and Robert Jr. and Denise Love of East Moline; two step-sons, Robert “Bo” Sager of Colorado, and James and Dawn Sager of Moline; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and siblings, William and Myrtle Love of Lufkin, Texas, and Linda Cantu of East Moline. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joellen, and a great-grandson, Jescie Armstrong.
