Robert H. Bimm, 87, of Bettendorf, Iowa, entered Heaven on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at the Iowa City VA Medical Center.
Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. Graveside services are 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 12, 2024 at Rock Island National Cemetery. Those wishing to attend should meet at New Life Fellowship, 2345 19th St., Moline, at 10:30 a.m. A celebration of life and luncheon will be held at New Life Fellowship following services.
Robert Herman Bimm was born November 8, 1936, in Savanna, Illinois, the son of William and Gladys (Brock) Bimm. He proudly served in the United States Navy and was a Korean War Veteran. He went on to work in manufacturing sales for over 20 years. He married Lorna Baker on November 3, 2001.
He was a member of the Savanna Community Ambulance for 27 years. He enjoyed reading the bible, cooking, and making baked goods. Anyone who knew him, knows the great sense of humor he carried. Above all else, he loved spending time with his family.
Robert is survived by his wife, Lorna; children, Mary (Milo Miller) Kane, Donald (Karen) Bimm, Robert (Laura) Bimm, David Bimm, and Molly Bimm; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Barbara Giesler, John Bimm, and Dena Olson. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Tim.
Robert will be dearly missed by his friends and family.
