Rita C. Brackeen

Rita C. Brackeen, 71, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away Thursday, October 31, 2019, at her home surrounded by family.

There will be no public services. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home.

The former Rita Catherine Hamilton was born March 14, 1948, in Galveston, Texas, the daughter of Robert and Leah (Davidson) Hamilton. She married Larry Brackeen, who preceded her in death in 1991.

Rita enjoyed gardening, working, shopping, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by three sons, Robert J. Strickland of Davenport, Ken Strickland of Mississippi, and Robert J. (Dena) Strickland, Jr. of Davenport; five grandchildren; a brother, Bobby Hamilton; and a sister, Gerri Gentles. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, Dennis Strickland; and several siblings.
