Ricky L. Puckett, 64, of Davenport, Iowa, died unexpectedly on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at home. 

 

A celebration of Rick’s life will be announced at a later date.  Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities.

 

Ricky Lee Puckett was born January 21, 1960, in Champaign, Illinois, the son of William and Augusta (Becker) Puckett.  He was raised by his mother and step-father, Augusta and Richard Lee.  He married the love of his life, Rhonda (York) Azure on August 22, 1987, in Davenport.

 

He enjoyed his career as a truck driver, spending over 36 years with Standard Forwarding.  He retired in 2022. 

 

Rick was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears’ fan.  He enjoyed eating out and trying new foods, and was obsessed with being out on the farm.  Above all else, family was the most important thing to Rick.  He loved his grandchildren with all of his heart and especially treasured the time he spent with his granddaughter, Challey.

 

Ricky is survived by his beloved wife, Rhonda; his son and daughter-in-law, Josh and Ashley Puckett of Davenport; four grandchildren, Christian Hill, Jordyn and Riley Puckett, and Challey Puckett; two great-grandchildren; siblings, Cheryl Johnson of Champaign, Damion Lee of Champaign, John Lee of Rantoul, Illinois, Diane Foote of Decatur, Illinois, and Adam Devorak of Morton, Illinois; his father-in-law, Thomas York; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Augusta and Richard Lee, and William Puckett; his son, Michael Puckett; grandson, Wyatt Puckett; his grandparents; and mother-in-law, Bernice York.
