Memorial Services for Richard Stuart Hauf of Moline are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Monday at Salem Lutheran Church, Moline where he was a member, with the Reverend Thomas O. Peterson officiating. Friends can visit from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Memorials may be given to either the American Heart Association or to the American Cancer Society. Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline is assisting the family. Richard Stuart Hauf was born May 28, 1938 in Evanston, Illinois, the son of Edward Edmond and Dema Mildred (Hoover) Hauf. Richard graduated from Princeton High School, Princeton, Illinois, and Illinois State University, Normal, Illinois. He served in the United States Army for eight years. Richard married the former Barbara Kelley, January 29, 1960, in Bloomington, Illinois. For twenty five years he was the voice of Dick Stuart, and program manager for WHBF Radio in the Quad-Cities. After retiring he enjoyed his time working in the children's department at the Moline Public Library on 41st street. Richard had been a movie and theater buff all of his life, and majored in drama at Illinois State University. He was an avid reader, enjoyed taking walks with his wife, loved watching the Chicago Cubs, and Bears games with his sons, and never knew a stranger. Survivors include his wife, Barbara; three sons and their spouses, Daniel and Tammy Hauf, Goldsboro, North Carolina, Edward and Paula Hauf, Davenport, Iowa, and Benjamin Hauf, Moline; and two granddaughters, Jessica Hauf, and Ashley Hauf.
