Richard R. Robinson, 90, of Rock Island, Illinois, died Thursday, November 17, 2005, in Oak Glen Home, Coal Valley, Illinois.
Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday in First Evangelical Free Church, Moline, with Pastor Chuck Rife officiating. Burial is in Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Memorials may be made to the church, where he was a member.
Richard was born October 31, 1915, in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of Alma Robert and Clara (Reeck) Robinson. He married Doris Sproston on June 24, 1945, in Rock Island. He retired from Blackhawk Foundry, Davenport, in 1980.
Richard is survived by his wife of 60 years, Doris; seven children and spouses, Carl and Diana Robinson of Coal Valley, Karen and Frank McAllister of Davenport, Diane and Dale Hanson and Wanda Langfeldt, all of Rock Island, Paula and Charles Hickman of Dallas, Georgia, Rick Robinson of Kewanee, and Larry Robinson of Las Vegas; 19 grandchildren, 9 step-grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 13 step-great-grandchildren; and a sister and brother-in-law, Corrine and J. C. ?Pete? Peterson of Somerville, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Rev. Leonard Sharber, and brothers Robert and William Robinson.
