Richard R. ?Dick? Pruitt, 74, of Silvis, Illinois, formerly of Coal Valley, Illinois, died Thursday, October 11, 2012, at Illini Medical Center, Silvis, Illinois.
Per Dick?s wishes, no services will be held. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, is assisting the family.
Richard Roy Pruitt was born September 1, 1938, in Hinsdale, Illinois, the son of Kenneth and Francis (Eells) Pruitt. He married Linda Carlson on April 28, 1962, in Moline, and later married Carol Lundquist on July 3, 1971.
He worked for Murphy Brothers as a driver. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. He loved to tell jokes and make people laugh.
Dick is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Lauri Pruitt of St. Augustine, Florida; stepchildren and their spouses, Denise and Bob Love of East Moline, Illinois, and Philip and Tracy Breckling of Silvis; grandchildren, Christopher Pruitt, Nick Robles, Alex, Tyler, and Gaelyn Breckling, Jennifer and Jesica Love, and Rory Newbrough; great-grandchildren, Killian Breckling and Emmarie Love; and ex-wives, Linda Carlson of Moline, and Carol Lundquist of East Moline. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Anne Graves and Penny Coons, and a brother, Jim Pruitt.
