Richard M. Bannon, Jr., 73, of Moline, Illinois, died Thursday, July 7, 2022, at home.
Services to celebrate Dick’s life will be held Saturday, July 30, 2022, at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. The gathering will begin with military honors performed in the parking lot by Moline American Legion Post #246 at Noon, and continue with a hospitality gathering at CityView Celebrations in the lower level from Noon until 2:00 p.m. Cremation will take place prior to services. Memorials may be made to the family.
Richard Michael Bannon, Jr. was born July 27, 1948, in Rochester, Minnesota, the son of Richard Sr. and Shirley (Welton) Bannon. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a proud veteran. He married the love of his life, Catharine Nandy on November 7, 1998, in Rochester.
He enjoyed reading, watching Sci-Fi and cooking shows on television, traveling and exploring new places, and going for walks with his 4-legged children, Bear and Anna. Above all else, family was the most important thing to Dick, especially his grandchildren.
Dick is survived by his beloved wife, Cathy; his son and daughter-in-law, Richard III and Nichole Bannon of Kasson, Minnesota; three grandchildren, David, Kenzie and RayLynn Bannon; and a sister, MeriLea (Ken) Smith of Lake City, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Joseph Bannon; and a sister, Vicky Lynn Bannon.
