Richard L. Dennhardt, 73, of Orion, Illinois, died Thursday, April 14, 2016, at home.
Services are 10:00 a.m. Monday in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline, where the Orion American Legion Post #255 will present military honors. Visitation is 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday. Memorials may be made to one's favorite charity.
Richard Lee Dennhardt was born January 18, 1943, in Moline, the son of Richard E. and Lucille "Babe" (Donder) Dennhardt. He served in the United States Army, and was stationed in France. He married Ann Rae Skelton on June 29, 1963, in Colona, Illinois.
He was a bolt maker for John Deere for 34 years, retiring in 1998. After retiring, he worked for Avis Car Rental for 16 years. He also farmed his own land in Orion for over 40 years.
Richard had previously attended Osco Community Church. He enjoyed traveling and camping with his wife, and they were a part of the Sunny Days RV Club for many years.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ann; a daughter and son-in-law, Wendy and Michael Cornell of Bushnell, Florida; sons and daughters-in-law, Timothy and Jennifer Dennhardt of Rock Island, and Peter and Rachelle Dennhardt of Troy, Ohio; 14 grandchildren; a great-grandson; and siblings, Barbara and Jack Merrill of Silvis, Ronald Dennhardt of Moline, and Nancy Hunt of East Moline. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister-in-law, Janie Dennhardt, a brother-in-law, James Hunt, and a grandson, Morgan Harl.
