Richard F. Kelley

Richard F. Kelley, 91, of East Moline, Illinois, died Wednesday, May 31, 2023, in Allure of the Quad Cities, Moline.

Services are 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 6, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, Moline.  Visitation is one hour prior to services.  Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery, where the Moline American Legion Post #246 will present military honors.  Luncheon will follow at CityView Celebrations at Trimble Pointe.  Memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established in Dick’s memory.

Richard Franklin Kelley was born April 20, 1932, in Moline, to Corbett and Germaine (Minnie) Kelley.  He married the love of his life, Beatrice Rasso Alvarez on November 21, 1987.  Previously, he had been married to Mary Lou Sperry, with whom he had three children.

Dick served in the U.S. Army and went on to work for International Harvester for over 40 years.  He was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church, East Moline, and served two terms as Chairman of the Board for Mississippi Valley Credit Union.  He enjoyed painting, yardwork, woodworking, and was a pilot.  He and his wife enjoyed many vacations with friends over the years.

Survivors include his wife, Beatrice; children, Diane (Steve Novak) Kelley of Frankfurt, Illinois, Pat Moore of Neosho, Missouri, and Jude Wehrley of Arlington, Texas; step-children, Ferdinand (Lori) Alvarez of Rock Island, Alan (Sally) Alvarez of Sioux City, Iowa, and Adele Alvarez of Rock Island; grandchildren, Aaron Fisher, Rachael Fisher-Covert, Kiel (Emilie) Moore, Patrick (Cassie) Bennett, Jenny Wehrley, Michael Wehrley, Jason Davis, Natosha Davis, Danny Paskell III, Aden Julio Tucker Alvarez, Lindsay (Tim) Russell, Emily (Bob) Murphy, Kara Sebben, Sara Peterson, Ashley Alvarez, and Coethe Adams II; many great-grandchildren; and siblings, Karen Hutton and Jim Kelley.
