Richard H. Wilt, 74, of Moline, died Sunday, August 28, 2005 at Heartland Healthcare Center, Moline.
Services are 10:30 a.m.Wednesday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Burial is in Moline Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday. Memorials may be made the City of Rock Island Animal Shelter 33 Mill Street Rock Island, IL 61201.
Richard Harrington Wilt was born June 12, 1931 in Jamestown, New York, the son of Dewey and Beatrice (Haines) Wilt. He married Mary Louise Hermanson on October 13, 1956 in Jamestown, New York. She died January 31, 2003. Richard earned a degree in Architectural Engineering from Ohio University in 1956 and started with Deere & Company on June 25, 1956 and retired on May 31, 1986. After retiring he owned and operated FTV Productions, converting movie and film photos to vhs tape. And through AAECOM he was a consultant for Deere & Co, Harrington Signal, and the Rock Island County Animal Shelter.
Dick was a Registered Architect and Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Illinois. He was a member of Autumn Leaf Collectors Club. He enjoyed wintering in Englewood, Florida, motor home traveling, fishing, golfing, and World War II History.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Robert Hall of Moline, son, Tim Wilt of Grand Junction, Colorado, four grandchildren, Samantha McCall of Milan, Christian Houk of Moline, Timothy Thompson and Jennifer Thompson, both of Buffalo, New York, a great-grandson James McCall IV of Milan, brother and sister-in-law, William and Karen Hermanson of New Snyra Beach, Florida, two nieces, Kimberly Gibson, and Heidi Hermanson, both of Bettendorf, two nephews, Chris Hermanson of Columbia, South Carolina, and Brian Hermanson, of Tuscan, California, and his mother-in-law, Maxime Hermanson of New Snyra Beach, Florida. An infant brother, David Wilt, preceded him in death.
