Richard Eugene Thomas

Milan, Illinois Richard E. Thomas age 65 of Milan, died Monday, April 23, 2001 in Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 10:00 AM in Trimble Funeral Home, Coal Valley. With the Rev. Msgr. Dale Wellman officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Entombment will follow the service at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorial may be given to the family. Richard Eugene Thomas was born December 12, 1935 in Peoria, IL the son of Claude and Agnes (Konitzer) Thomas. He graduated from Alleman High School in 1954, and married Betty G. McGuire. Richard had retired from Trism Trucking in Rock Island, and has recently worked at Ronald Newman Trucking in Colona, IL. Richard enjoyed hunting and fishing. Survivors include his wife Betty of Milan; five children, Debra and Dan Higgins, Charles and Kathy Thomas, Kathy and Jeff Williams, Claudette Thomas,and Timothy and LaTisha Thomas; five stepchildren, Trudy Zielstorf, Becky and Larry Thorndyke, Marshall Gulley, Julie and Dan Miller, and John and Joni Gulley; along with sixteen grandchildren.
