Richard D. “Dick” Anderson, 91, long-time resident of Coal Valley, Illinois, died Saturday, November 7, 2020, in UnityPoint Health – Trinity Rock Island.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, a memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Coal Valley Cemetery. Trimble Funeral Home, Coal Valley, is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, Coal Valley.
Richard Dean Anderson was born July 21, 1929, in Coal Valley, to Carl J. and Emma (Pearson) Anderson. He married Alice Darlene Lees on June 27, 1949. She died August 30, 2017. He was employed at Lofgren Distributing Company and Audio Dimensions in Moline for 37 years, retiring in 1991.
Dick was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Coal Valley, for over 60 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and riding his golf cart.
Dick is survived by three children and their spouses, Michael and Teresa Anderson of Moline, Mark and Linda Anderson of Rock Island, and Michele “Shelly” and Mark Johnson of Moline; five grandchildren and their spouses, Christopher and Dawn Anderson, Heath and Andrea Anderson, Eric Anderson, Lynn and David Gimble, and Melissa and Jared Siddall; seven great-grandchildren, Andrew, Kayden, and Bryson Gimble, Anakin and Ashton Siddall, and Holly and Drew Isaac. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife; sister, Eileen McAdam; and brothers, Robert E. Anderson and Carl J. Anderson, Jr.
