Raymond Morgan, 79, of Moline, Illinois, died Friday, August 15, 2008, in Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island.
Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Moline, with The Reverend Dr. Wilfred Karsten officiating. Burial is in New Boston Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Memorials may be made to the church's organ fund.
Raymond was born June 20, 1929, in Elkhart, Illinois, the son of Marvin and Dorothy (Cowgur) McGinnis. He married Janice Teckenburg Franks on May 19, 1990, in Moline. He was a warehousman at Eagle Foods Warehouse in Milan for 25 years, retring in 1995.
He was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Moline, and enjoyed bowling, gardening and breakfast with the boys from the warehouse.
Ray is survived by his wife, Janice; sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry Morgan of Temple, Texas, Thomas and Sandra Morgan of Rock Island, and Randy and Julie Morgan of Muscatine, Iowa; stepsons, Randy Parker and his wife Tammy of East Moline, Kevin Parker of Rock Island, and Garth Parker of Moline; six grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; three-great-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Rose Armstead; brothers, Robert, Ralph and William Morgan; and a granddaughter.
