Moline, Illinois Services for Ralph J. Wilson, 91, of Moline, long-time Daily Dispatch employee, are 11 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church, Moline. The Reverend Steven Wood will officiate. Burial is in Riverside Cemetery, Moline. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline. Memorials may be made to the Wilson Scholarship Fund at First Baptist Church, Moline. Mr. Wilson died Monday, October 29, 2001, in Pike's Peak Hospice at St. Francis Hospital, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Ralph James Wilson was born March 24, 1910, in his parent's home at 2218 6th Avenue, Moline, the son of Oscar James and Anna (Segur) Wilson. His grandparents owned ‘The Wilson House' at 604 21st Street, built in 1858, which is Moline's oldest surviving home. He married Laura M. Ryan on August 7, 1934, in Park Rapids, Minnesota. He was employed by the Daily Dispatch, Moline, for 78 years, where he was Business Manager. He began working for the newspaper as a carrier in 1921, and was still working part-time at his retirement in 1999. He was an active member of First Baptist Church, Moline, where he was a Lifetime Deacon, and was recently honored as the oldest living Deacon. He was a former member of the Moline Boy Scout Council and National Association of Cost Accountants. Ralph is survived by his wife, Laura; a daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Joe Lillard of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and two granddaughters, Amy Lillard of Paris, France, and Molly Lillard of Denver, Colorado.
