Ralph A. ''Skip'' Griffin

July 9, 1932 — July 7, 2002

Ralph A. "Skip" Griffin Jr., 69, of Coal Valley, died Sunday, July 7, 2002, at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island. Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline, followed by graveside services at National Cemetery on the Rock Island Arsenal. Mr. Griffin was born July 9, 1932, in Moline, the son of Ralph A. and Myrtle (Nelson) Griffin. He served in the U. S. Air Force from 1952 to 1956. He was a spot-welder at AMETEK for 20 years and at American Air Filter for 10 years. He last worked at Seaburg Industries in Rock Island. He was a member of First United Presbyterian Church, Moline. He is survived by a son, Ralph A. "Skip" Griffin III and his wife, Jennifer, of Moline, two grandchildren, Kyle Arends and Kelsey Griffin, and sisters and brothers-in-law, Marge and Harold Hellgren of Moline, Fern and Art Gaumer of Port Byron, Judy and Larry Liedtke of Colona, and Pearl Tank of Hampton. He was preceded in death by sisters, Eleanor Moss and Barb Nielsen, and a brother, Floyd "Bud" Griffin.
