R. Warren McLean, 86, of Silvis, Illinois, formerly of Moline, Illinois, died Wednesday, August 1, 2012, in St. Anthony?s Nursing and Rehab Center, Rock Island.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, with The Reverend Don Knowles officiating. Burial is in Moline Memorial Park. Visitation is one hour before the services.
Royce Warren McLean was born November 1, 1925, in Haileyville, Oklahoma, the son of Roy E. and Edith Lester McLean. He served in the U. S. Navy during WW II, and married Ella Mae Noah in 1945, in Rock Island. She died September 26, 1994. He married Clarabeth Dye McGinnis on November 19, 1994, in East Moline. He was stock receiver and distributor at John Deere Plow Works for 34 years, retiring in 1983.
He was a former member of the Moline Viking Lodge, American Legion, Friends Circle Club, Svithoid Club, and the Rock Island Moose Lodge. He was an avid bowler, played baseball in local leagues, and enjoyed ballroom dancing.
Warren is survived by his wife, Clarabeth; two daughters and a son-in-law, Lori McLean and Deborah and Mark Nelson, all of Moline; a granddaughter, Amanda McLean; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Thomas and Beverly McLean of Mesa, Arizona, and Donald and Sandra McLean of Reynolds, Illinois. He was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Westcott.
