Charles R. Miller, 77, of Coal Valley, Illinois, died Monday, March 29, 2010, in Trinity, Rock Island.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Coal Valley. Burial is in Coal Valley Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or Alzheimer?s Association.
Charles Raymond Miller was born September 6, 1932, in Springfield, Illinois, the son of William and Bertha Miller. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He married Betty Fanis on September 19, 1953, in Rockford, Illinois. She died March 19, 2003. He was a cable repairman for Illinois Bell Telephone Company for 38 years, retiring in 1991. He enjoyed fishing and cooking and spending time with his family.
Charles is survived by three children, Mike Miller and his wife Violet of Brunner, Missouri; Becky Stouffer of Davenport, Iowa, and Charles ?Bob? Miller of Newberg, Wisconsin; four grandchildren, Ashley Russell and her husband John, Nick Stouffer, Courtney Miller, and Kevin Miller; a great-granddaughter, Mickell King, and a sister, Barb Lawson of Jacksonville, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty, a grandson, Justin Miller, and brothers, Norman and William Miller.
