Phillip Henry Everett was born October 5, 1947, and passed away January 29, 2025 at 77 years old.
He was born in Elkton, Maryland; the son of Eugene and Rebecca (Reynolds) Everett Sr. He grew up on the East Coast, as one of nine children. A career in the US Army would take him all over the world. Phil was always fond of his years stationed in Germany. He served his country for twenty years until he retired from active military service as Sergeant First Class.
Phil was generous, lighthearted, and he never met a stranger. He was a motivator and a long time coach of various sports. A contributor to his church, he was always ready to lend a hand, and he took pleasure in volunteering his time to those in need. He loved dogs, children, and spending time with his family. Laughter followed him wherever he went. He was a “cut up” in every sense.
He enjoyed taking it easy, sitting in the sun and watching the birds. Phil was a lifetime hobbyist, and he spent many days out fishing and golfing. He was also a lifetime Alabama football fan.
Phil is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years, Randi; his dear sister, Grace; his treasured daughters, Liz Wilson (Brian), Phyllis Wilson (Ronnie), Denise Lyons (Keith); step-children, Ashley Renier Ramos and Aaron Ramos; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.
Phil’s signature salutation was “God Bless America and you too.”
Visitation, along with a funeral luncheon, will be held on Monday, February 3, 2025, from 11:30 to 1:00 p.m. at CityView Celebrations at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, immediately followed by burial at Rock Island National Cemetery, where the Vietnam Veterans of the Quad Cities will present military honors.
