Linda S. Schoessel, age 62, of Holland, Michigan, formerly of Moline, Illinois, died Tuesday, January 22, 2008, at Spectrum Health, Butterworth Campus, Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Services are 11 a.m. Monday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Burial is in Moline Memorial Park. Visitation is one hour before the services. Memorials may be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
The former Linda Peterson was born February 25, 1945, in Moline, Illinois, the daughter of Clyde and Phyllis (Larson) Peterson. She graduated from Lawrence University, Appleton, Wisconsin, and married Terry Schoessel on May 29, 1968, in Mesa, Arizona. He died December 5, 2000. She was the coordinator and lead teacher for the Ottawa Area Intermediate School Districts COPE program until her retirement in 2006.
Linda is survived by a daughter, Barrie Schoessel and her husband Rajesh Shah of Royal Oak, Michigan; a son, Scott Schoessel and his wife Erika of Lansing, Michigan; brothers, Kent Peterson of Washington, DC, and Larry Peterson of Rock Island; her mother-in-law, June Schoessel of Rock Island; and her sister-in-law, Christine Bacon of Coal Valley.
