Penny K. Ruggles, 57, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away Friday, October 25, 2019, at Manor Care Health Services, Davenport.
Services to celebrate Penny's life will be held Friday, November 1, 2019, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, beginning with a memorial visitation from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. The celebration will continue with a time of sharing for family and friends beginning at 4:00 p.m. Cremation will take place prior to services at Trimble Crematory.
The former Penny Kay Thornton was born July 16, 1962, in Moline, the daughter of Michael Dennis and Patty Elaine (Davis) Thornton. She attended Bettendorf High School. She had been married to Joel Hansen, with whom she had a daughter. She spent the last 25 years with the love of her life, Scott Fascher.
Penny spent many years volunteering for the Speedway Fire Rescue. She was very artistic, enjoying crafts, painting, coloring, and jewelry making. She also loved music, animals, Nascar, and throwing parties for any occasion. Above all else, family was the most important thing to Penny, especially her daughter and grandchildren.
Penny is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Holt-Hansen of Bettendorf; three grandchildren, Kilean, Rainee and Ryker Hansen; her parents, Michael and Patty Thornton of Port St. Lucie, Florida; siblings, Michael Thornton of Vancouver, Washington, and Karen Wachter and Sandy Curphy, both of Port St. Lucie; many nieces and nephews; and her life partner, Scott Fascher.
