Peggy Carmichael, 71, of Moline, Illinois, formerly of Red Oak, Iowa, died Tuesday, September 20, 2016, at Heartland Health Care Center, Moline, after a brave battle with Alzheimer's Disease.

A memorial service will take place in Red Oak, Iowa, at Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 24th. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

The former Peggy Jean McKee was born July 6, 1945, in Red Oak, Iowa, the daughter of LeRoy "Pat" and Audrey (Shook) McKee. She married Roger Dean Burrington in 1967, and had one son. She married John Carmichael on September 6, 1986, in Red Oak. He died July 23, 2011.

She worked on the factory line of the Union Carbide battery plant in Red Oak for several years. She had been a member of Red Oak Baptist Church.

Peggy is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Dino and Tina Hayz of Moline; a grandson, Eli Hayz; and a sister, Sandra Guinn of Red Oak. She also has two step-daughters, Jenny (Matt) Clayton, grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Jackson, Colorado Springs, CO; and Julie Carmichael of Shenzhen, China. She was preceded in death by her husband and a brother, Sam McKee.
