Peggy Charlene McIntire was born in Moline on July 30, 1951. She grew up in the 7th street Old Towne neighborhood with her close family and many friends. She learned to dance from Marylou Denhardt and took that experience with her throughout her vibrant life. She was a 1969 graduate of Moline High School, where she was a cheerleader and dancer. She married Bob Hanske on September 23rd, 1972, in Moline, and they recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary.
Peggy had many joys in her life, but none more joyous than her daughter, Tasia, and son, Nick, along with her three grandchildren, Sam, Amelia, and Madilyn. She was also very active in area theater, where she directed and choreographed the musical at United Township for over twenty years, directed mini theater in Moline grade schools, taught theater for a few years at College for Kids, choreographed the musical and choral concerts at Rock Island High School for many years, and was active as an actress, dancer, director, and choreographer at the Genesius Guild. She also choreographed and acted at Richmond Hill, Music Guild, Playcrafters, ETC, New Ground Theater, and other places. She brought her own special wonder to everything she did and was loved by many.
Peggy is survived by her husband, Bob; daughter, Tasia Hanske and her fiancé, Brian Bunker, of Davenport; a son, Nick Hanske of Moline; grandchildren, Sam and Amelia Rasmussen, and Madilyn Bunker; her mother, Lois (Larry) Spiker of Lomax, Illinois; sisters, Vickie (Randy) McWhorter of Rock Island, Christine (Rich) Hanson of Morton, Illinois; a brother, Steve (Tyyne) McIntire of Moline, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins that she loved. And thank the Lord for her wonderful friends Susie, Ricki, Mary, and Pat and Patti Flaherty, who were with her to the end. She was preceded in death by her father, Benjamin, and a brother, Larry McIntire.
The family thanks Dr. Garneau and his wonderful staff for ?giving her extra time to love us all.? She will be missed and her life will be celebrated by all the family, friends, and students whose lives she touched.
