Paul J. Daughenbaugh, 76, of Orion, Illinois, died unexpectedly Sunday, August 5, 2012, in his home.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Monday, August 13, in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Coal Valley, Illinois. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation is one hour before the services. Memorials may be made to the Paul Daughenbaugh Memorial Fund.
Paul James Daughenbaugh was born September 22, 1935, in Richland Center, Wisconsin, the son of Eldon and Alice Ray Daughenbaugh. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War, and married Shirley Livermore on July 13, 1953, in Waukon, Iowa. He owned and operated Orion Tree Service for 44 years, retiring in 2011. He also was a baggage handler for American Airline for 22 years, retiring in 1991.
Paul was a member and Deacon of Living Faith Church, Bettendorf, Iowa, and the Alpha-Ophiem American Legion. He enjoyed working with his hands, and was a jack of all trades who could fix anything.
Paul is survived by his wife, Shirley, two children, Elaine Karras and her husband Ted of Boise, Idaho, and James M. Daughenbaugh of Lynn Center, Illinois; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Marjorie Mick and Carol McKitrick, both of Richland Center, Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by frive brothers, Clark, Bernard, Arthur, John and Robert.
