Paul D. Boyle

Paul D. Boyle, 82, of Moline, Illinois, died Tuesday, December 2, 2014.

Services are 3 p.m. Saturday in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, with The Reverend Randy Willers officiating. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday. Private burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Moline. Following the services, friends are invited to join the family at a luncheon at CityView Celebrations at Trimble Pointe. Memorials may be made to Salem Lutheran Church Building Fund, Moline; St. Jude's Children's Hospitals, or First Tee.

Paul Dale Boyle was born January 21, 1932, in Silvis, Illinois, to Zoe (Pulford) and Leo William Boyle Sr. He attended the University of Nebraska, Moline Community College, and Western Illinois University. He served in the U. S. Navy from 1951 to 1959. He married Marilyn Frederickson on June 7, 1953, in Moline. He was employed as an engineer at John Deere Parts Distribution Warehouse, Milan, for 13 years, retiring in 1992. He previously worked at International Harvester East Moline Works, J. I Case in Bettendorf, Moline Press Steel in East Moline, and American Air Filter in Moline.

Paul was a charter member of Mill Creek Country Club, which he helped design and build, and a member of American Legion Post #227 in East Moline. He enjoyed golfing, woodworking, gardening, traveling, home remodeling, and family gatherings.

Paul is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marilyn; two children and their spouses, Jeff and Linda Boyle of East Moline, and Susan and Kevin Kick of Buffalo Grove, Illinois; six grandchildren, Eric Black, Casie Fields, Lynden Fields, Kevin Kick, Nicole Colombari and her husband Joe, and Traci Boyle; and two great-grandchildren, Sophia and Isabella Colombari. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl Black, a brother, Leo Boyle, and a sister, Vivian Hammes.
