Patrick E. Hicks

Patrick E. Hicks, 52, of Moline, Illinois, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Rock Island.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 7, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Visitation is 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery. . In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to 1st Infantry Division Foundation, PO Box 607, Ambler, PA 19002.

Patrick Eugene Hicks was born March 18, 1970, in DeKalb, Illinois, the son of Geoff and Sharon (Huffman) Hicks. He graduated from Moline High School in 1988 and served in the U.S. Army during the Gulf War, earning many medals including the Southwest Asia Service Medal with 3 Bronze Stars.

Pat married the love of his life, Jennifer Hitch, on March 23, 2002, in Hinsdale, Illinois. From this union came his pride and joy, daughter Abigail Hicks. He worked at John Deere Harvester, most recently as a fork truck operator.

He was a member of the Porsche Club of America, as well as several other car and gaming groups. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and going to the shooting range, especially with his daughter, nieces and nephews. He enjoyed gaming and had many gaming friends from around the country. If you asked Pat what he liked, he would tell you, “cars and coffee”. But above all else, the most important thing to Pat was his family and friends, most importantly his beloved daughter, Abby.

Pat is survived by his wife, Jennifer; his daughter, Abby; his parents, Geoff and Sharon Hicks of Winterhaven, Florida, formerly of Moline; his brother, Andrew Hicks of Lakeland, Colorado, formerly of Moline; his in-laws, James and Janice Hitch of Port Byron, Illinois; Jennifer’s siblings, Jeanene and Mark Letcher, James and Kelly Hitch, and Jorie and Jared Edwards; and his nieces and nephews, Rebekah, Christopher, and Jonathan Letcher, Colin and Finn Hitch, and Jorja, Jada and Jaymesyn Edwards.
