Patricia Morrissey, 66, of Coal Valley, Illinois, died Tuesday, December 30, 2008, at Rochester Methodist Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Services are 10:00 a.m. Monday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Coal Valley. Visitation is 3:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday. Burial is in Chapel Hill Cemetery, Dixon. Memorials may be made to the Pat Morrissey Memorial Fund to be established by the family.
The former Patricia Elaine Greenfield was born February 18, 1942, in Dixon, Illinois, the daughter of Howard and Katherine (Withey) Greenfield. She married Dan Morrissey on July 11, 1970, in Walton, Illinois.
Pat was a teacher in Schaumburg, Illinois, for four years. She has been teaching at Horace Mann Elemetary School in Coal Valley since 1970. She enjoyed traveling and reading, but her true passion was teaching.
Pat is survived by her husband, Dan, of Coal Valley, a brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Vallery Greenfield of Big Rapids, Michigan, a niece and her husband, Heather and Frank Gregorio, a nephew and his wife, Heath and Pam Greenfield, and great-nieces and nephews, Elisa, Amelia, and Owen Greenfield, and Luke, Cole, and Logan Gregorio.
