Patricia A. Blaser

Patricia Blaser, 85, of Coal Valley, Illinois, died Saturday, January 2, 2021, in her home.

Private services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church, Coal Valley, with The Rev. Tim Snart officiating. Burial is in Coal Valley Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Child Evangelism Fellowship of West Central Illinois or the church. Trimble Funeral Home, Coal Valley, is in charge of arrangements.

The former Patricia Ann Miller was born January 31, 1935, in Moline, Illinois, to Harold Allen and Lucille Eliza (Lees) Miller. She married Dwayne Eldon Blaser on June 15, 1968, in Coal Valley. She graduated from St. Luke’s Hospital School of Nursing and had a long nursing career. She was a missionary nurse at the Indian Reservation in Ganado, Arizona, head nurse at Gatesville, Texas, a shop nurse at John Deere Harvester Works, and a registered nurse at the former Trinity Medical Center from which she retired in 1995.

Pat was a lifetime member of First Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was active in Child Evangelism Fellowship and hosted it’s Five Day Club in Coal Valley. In earlier years, she played semipro softball with the Quad City Redbirds, and wrote for the Moline Daily Dispatch. She loved the outdoors, hunted deer and turkeys until two years ago, and had the family record for the most deer. She enjoyed art and music, and was an exuberant mom and grandma who loved spending time with her family.

Pat is survived by her husband, Dwayne; four children and spouses, Eliza and Doug Corbin of East Galesburg, Albert Blaser of Coal Valley, James and Shelagh Blaser of Orion, and Mary and Ahren Steiger of Coal Valley; nine grandchildren and their spouses, Hannah Blaser, Adam and Emily Blaser, Caroline and A.J. Krack, Dwayne Blaser, Daniel Corbin, Allisyn Blaser, Westley Steiger, Laura Corbin, and Emma Steiger; a great-grandson, Henry Krack; and her sister, Nancy Varner of Knoxville, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Rosser.
