Orville E. Hutchinson, 81, of Milan, Illinois, died Thursday, November 8, 2012, in Trinity Rock Island, Rock Island, Illinois.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Coal Valley, with The Reverend Tim Snart officiating. Burial is in Preemption Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the church.
Orville Eugene Hutchinson was born September 6, 1931, in Moline, Illinois, the son of Eugene and Blanche Woolley Hutchinson. He married Ruth Ellen Miller on June 20, 1954, in Taylor Ridge, Illinois. She died December 7, 2000. He was an equipment manager for Deere and Company for 26 years.
Orville was best known for his riding horses, his terriers, and his love for animals. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman, and a patriot with a strong love for his country. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Coal Valley, and a 4-H leader for many years.
Orville is survived by seven children and their spouses, Roland and Cynthia Hutchinson of Orion, Illinois, Dennis Hutchinson of Des Moines, Iowa, Debra and Ronald Green of East Moline, Illinois, Linda and James Bleuer of Milan, Laura Hutchinson of East Moline, Becky and Carl McGee of Moline, and Paula and Matthew DeWild of Milan; seven grandchildren, Jesse and Thomas Hutchinson, Christina, Molly, and Carl McGee, Brandon Bleuer, and Jonathan DeWild; three great-grandchildren; and siblings, Carol Erickson and her husband Wayne of Reynolds, Illinois, Sally Bowman of Moline, and Sam Hutchinson of Milan. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruth; a brother-in-law, Dennis Bowman, and a sister-in-law, Carol Hutchinson.
