Jean Ohrberg Scherf, 72, of Moline, Illinois, died Thursday, July 23, 2009, in her residence.
Services are 1 p.m. Monday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, with The Reverend Edward Borycz officiating. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation is 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to First United Presbyterian Church, Moline, American Cancer Society, or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
The former Jean Louise Ohrberg was born August 16, 1936, in Moline, Illinois, the daughter of Morris and Elsie (Henderkott) Ohrberg. She married Frank W. Scherf on May 5, 1984, in Moline. She was a member of First United Presbyterian Church, and Royal Neighbors of America. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and enjoyed collecting dolls, birdhouses, gardening, and square dancing.
Jean is survived by her husband, Frank; two daughters and a son-in-law, Susan and Steve Stottler and Kelly A. Scherf, all of Moline; four grandchildren, Jessica Dalton and her husband Curtis, Jasen Kennedy, Jon Kennedy, and Jeremy Schafer; seven great-grandchildren; and brothers, Kenneth ?Thomas? Ohrberg of Moline, and Jay Ohrberg of Oceanside, California.
