Norma J. Ewing, 92, of East Moline, Illinois, died Thursday, November 21, 2024, at home.
Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home staff. Services will be held at a later date.
Norma Jean Ewing was born March 1, 1932, in Minnesota, the daughter of Donald and Dorothy (Schermerhorn) Ferrier. She married Raymond Ewing on June 22, 1955, in Moline, Illinois. Norma received a degree in nursing from Moline Public Nursing School. She started her career at Moline Public Hospital and continued her career at Friendship Manor.
Norma enjoyed getting together with her nursing friends monthly for a luncheon, going to garage sales, shopping, watching the QVC channel, camping, traveling, was an animal lover, sewing, volunteering for Meals on Wheels, hosting gatherings and spending time with her family. She was known for being a great neighbor and was very friendly to everyone she met.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond Ewing; her children, Christine DeLaRosa, Cindy (Bernie) McMahon, Linda (John) Elliff, David Ewing; her grandchildren Andrea DeLaRosa, Tony (Sandra) DeLaRosa, Lindsey (Joe) Gonzales, Elizabeth (Dan) Ingersoll, Megan McMahon, Zachery McMahon, Natasha Drinkall, Doug Drinkall, John Elliff Jr., Joe (Teri) Elliff), James Elliff, Jason (Em) Elliff; her great-grandchildren, Riley Drinkall, Ivy Ingersoll, DeiRon DeLaRosa, Imani Hadden, Annel Lueth, Michael Endreson, Alyssa DeLaRosa, DeMassio DeLaRosa, Gio Gonzales, Gilliana Gonzales, Angelo Gonzales; and her great-great-grandchild, Melani DeLaRosa. She was preceded in death by her parents.
