Norma E. Schlofeldt, 91, of Coal Valley, Illinois, died Thursday, April 4, 2013, in Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Coal Valley, with The Reverend Robert E. Hagen officiating. Burial is in Coal Valley Cemetery. Visitation is 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Monday at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Coal Valley. Memorials may be made to the church.
The former Norma Elena Ziegler was born April 27, 1921, in Hampton Township, Illinois, the daughter of Henry and Edna (Rieling) Ziegler. She married Myron Bambauer in 1941, in Davenport, Iowa. He died in 1952. She married Byron Schlofeldt in 1956, in Girard, Ohio. He died in 1985.
While in Girard, Norma owned and operated a Dairy Queen. She worked as a lab technician for National Licorice Company in Moline for over 20 years, retiring in 1986.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Coal Valley, where she was active in the ?Warm Hearted Widows? group. She enjoyed reading, playing cards, and spending time with her family, especially her grandkids.
Norma is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Martin Sievers, and a son, Jerry Bambauer, all of Coal Valley; grandchildren, Jennifer and Jearmie Ransom of Coal Valley, Amanda and Chris Lucki of Colona, Shannon and Jill Bambauer of Silvis, Daniel Bambauer of Viola, and Nicholas Bambauer of Coal Valley; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Katherine Ziegler of Port Byron, and Delphine and Werner Schwarz of Moline; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands, a granddaughter, Julie Sievers, a brother, Alfred Ziegler, and a sister, Velma Driskell.

I gave you my love, you can only guess
how much you gave me in happiness.
I thank you for the love you each have shown,
