Norma D. Cecil, 82, of Moline, Illinois, died Thursday, July 12, 2012, in Heartland Health Care Center, Moline.
Private services will take place at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Coal Valley. Burial is in Coal Valley Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Animal Aid Humane Society in Moline.
The former Norma Dee Dyer was born December 19, 1929, in LaBelle, Missouri, the daughter of Rollie and Maybe Dyer. She married Lysle Edward Cecil on June 11, 1949, in LaBelle. He died March 7, 1980.
Norma was a hostess for Bishop?s Buffet for many years. She enjoyed cooking, NASCAR, and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her dog, King, and birds, Peg and Jewel.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Vickie and Gary Mize of Coal Valley, a son, Ed Cecil of Moline; grandchildren, Carrie (Bryan) Spence, Derrick (Wendy) Mize, Shawna (Matt) Czuba, and Brittany Cecil; great-grandchildren, Emma and Elle Spence, and Jack and Madison Mize; and a brother, Kenny Spidle of Milan, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her husband, and two brothers, Bob Dyer and Johnny Spidle.
