Rock Island Private services for Nina R. Minick, 86, of Rock Island, are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline. The Reverend Joseph Robb will officiate. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Red Wagon Day Care Center at First Congregational Church, Moline. Mrs. Minick died Sunday, February 25, 2001, in Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island. The former Nina Rachel Lueders was born July 26, 1914, in Carbon Cliff, Illinois, the daughter of William and Rachel (Kennedy) Lueders. She graduated form Moline High School in 1930. She married Dean Z. Haddick in 1938, in Rock Island; he died in 1976. She married John E. Minick in 1982 in Moline. She worked with her parents and husband at the former Lueders and Haddick Grocery Store in Moline for several years, and later worked in the millinery department of several area department stores. She was a member of First Congregational Church, Moline, Republican Women's Club, and United Commercial Travelers Auxiliary, and was a volunteer with the former Moline Public Hospital Auxiliary and St. Anthony's Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Nina is survived by her husband, John; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Dean W. Haddick of Moline, and Mark and Vickie Haddick of Coal Valley; step-children and their spouses, Judy Moens of Rock Island, Al and Terri Minick of Lake Villa, Illinois, and Tom and Marcia Minick of Moline; six grandchildren, Scott and Kyle Haddick, Tom and James Moens, Octavia Tousseau, and Luke Minick; three great-grandchildren, Thomas and Moziah Tousseau and Tom Moens, and a dear friend, Gerri Tidwell of Moline.
