Nicolas Castro, 53, of Rock Island, Illinois, died Wednesday, September 25, 2024, in Davenport, Iowa. 

Services are 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 4, at St Mary’s Catholic Church, 412 10th Street, Moline, Illinois. Burial will follow services at Riverside Cemetery, Moline. Visitation is 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, October 3, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Memorials may be made to the family. 

Nicolas Castro was born October 19, 1970, in Salvatierra, Guanajuato, Mexico, the son of Rodolfo and Maria Carmen (Almanza) Castro. He worked at Kraft Heinz for over 25 years. 

He enjoyed dancing, working, and traveling back to his hometown in Puerta Del Monte, Mexico. He was an avid fan of watching sports, especially his favorite soccer team, Cruz Azul. Above all else, his family was the world to him. Spending time with his family and close friends was what he enjoyed most. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Moline and apart of the San Nicolas Soccer Team. 

Nicolas is survived by his children, Neida Castro, Nicolas (Yesenia) Castro Jr., and Jesus Castro; siblings, Corina (Jose) Raya, Miguel (Luz) Castro, Alfredo (Virginia) Castro, Guadalupe (Ramiro) Martinez, Candida (Paco) Castro, Rodolfo (Araceli) Castro Jr., Estela (Miguel) Martinez, and Yolanda (Francisco) Mejia; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Nicolás deja atrás a sus hijos, Neida Castro, Nicolás (Yesenia) Castro Jr. y Jesús Castro; a sus hermanos, Corina (José) Raya, Miguel (Luz) Castro, Alfredo (Virginia) Castro, Guadalupe (Ramiro) Martínez, Cándida (Paco) Castro, Rodolfo (Araceli) Castro Jr., Estela (Miguel) Martínez y Yolanda (Francisco) Mejía; y a muchos sobrinos y sobrinas.
