Nellie Hufford

Nellie Hufford, 90, of Milan, Illinois, died Saturday, May 26, 2018, in her home.

Graveside services are 10 a.m. Saturday at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to ASPCA. Trimble Funeral Home, Moline, is serving the family.

The former Nellie Charlotte Reed was born October 5, 1927, in Moline, to Clyde Reed and Clara DeVinney Reed. She married Alfred Wayne Hufford on January 16, 1946, in East Moline. He died October 16, 2006. She taught Sunday school at Fifteenth Avenue Christian Church, Rock Island, for 25 years, and had been a member of King's Daughters. She loved to bowl, oil paint, gardening, feeding the birds and squirrels, and was an avid outdoor person.

Nellie is survived by sons, Kent Hufford of Austin, Texas, and Mark Hufford of Palm Springs, California. She was preceded in death by her husband, and three brothers, Marvin, Larry, and George Reed.
